Going to the southwest coast of Ireland - West Cork - made me want to spread my wings, so to speak, and rent a bike. The countryside and coast were so beautiful, but oddly there were few bikes to be seen. Then I realized that the roads were so narrow, often only one direction could pass at a time, and the bigger roads didn't necessarily have shoulders.
